We are looking for 8-10 volunteers to assist the girls with machine setup and project completion. This week’s project is to be determined, but these girls have taken the class before and we will start with a brief machine setup refresher. Sewing machine skills required of all volunteers as well as a general idea of how to set up a machine that uses top-loading bobbins. (And a passion for sewing, of course!)

This is a wonderful opportunity to share your sewing skills with a new generation of sewers that might not otherwise have the opportunity to take classes or learn on their own sewing machine. As you know, the art and skill of sewing has so many more rewards that just the practical knowledge of how to stitch a seam. Personally, there is nothing more rewarding for me than sharing the fulfillment that I get from the creative process of sewing with others for the first time.

Please join us next Monday afternoon, January 16. (GIRLS INC closed for holiday next monday, stay tuned for new date.) We will be meeting at Girls Inc. at 4:30 pm. The class will last approximately 2 hours.

CityCraft is providing all the materials, supplies, and machines necessary. You do not need to bring anything with you.

Sewing machine skills required of all volunteers and experience setting up Janome machines is preferred, but we will be instructing machine setup during the program so a general idea of how to set up a machine that uses top-loading bobbins is all that is really needed. (And a passion for sewing, of course!)
